WEST GREEN HOUSE – A SEASON OF OPERA AND GARDENS

West Green  presents one of the finest country house opera seasons, fusing together an acclaimed garden with intimate, small scale opera. Our 2014 programme includes Hansel und Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck, A little Night Music by Stephen Sondheim and Amadeus, two one Act Operas by Mozart and Salieri. As each evening of music concludes the garden with its follies and water features will be illuminated for guests to enjoy.

WEST GREEN HOUSE GARDENS GOES TO  CHELSEA

West Green House will be represented at the  Chelsea Flower Show for the very first time, with an Artisan Garden titled ” The Topiarist’s Garden”.

Designed by Marylyn Abbott and sponsored by Zenith44 “The Topiarist’s Garden” takes its inspiration from the courtyard  in front of the bothy here at West Green House. Envisage the garden as the personal space for the Head Gardener who is influenced by the tradition of “Topia opera” - fancy gardening. In this small walled space, he  indulges his passion for eclectic topiary designs, haphazardly placed amongst his favourite perennials. Bulbs and annual flowers  planted in a sunken chequerboard of pots make this space a fantasy of formality.

We look forward to seeing you at Chelsea.
