The Art of the Potager

The Vegetable garden at West Green is half of the historic walled garden and is designed to be both a decorative potager of fruit, flowers, vegetables and herbs and to supply the Tea Room with fresh vegetable.It is one of the gardens main attractions
The day will commence with a short introduction on The Art of the Potager, based around the book of the same name with many of its ideas sourced here in this garden.
Simon Hickmott, author of “Unusual Vegetables”, is the practicing practical gardener who plants and tends West Green’s potager garden. He will talk in extremely practical terms about soil preparation, growing and selecting vegetables to give a bountiful and decorative annual harvest.
Tickets will include; Morning coffee, talks, lunch served with a glass of wine. £65pp
