We’re delighted to see several pictures of West Green House feature in Naomi Slade’s new book, An Orchard Odyssey.
Naomi’s book is a sumptuous mix of history, interesting anecdotes, and a practical guide to having your own orchard. The official definition is a mere 5 trees, so with a careful choice of rootstock even the smallest of gardens can have one!
West Green is one of the gardens featured as a good place to see apples and can be found throughout the book. A particular delight is the use of scenes of the ‘doughnut’ garden in several of the main chapter header pictures.
“An Orchard Odyssey is a gloriously illustrated resource for fruit-lovers everywhere. Packed with inspirational ideas and practical advice, it shows how orchard living
can be incorporated into every lifestyle, no matter how busy or short of space you are.”
An Orchard Odyssey is one of The Guardian‘s best gardening books of 2016.
