The Amaryllis Collection
Amaryllis must be the most extravagant flower, a huge subtropical trumpet in many colours, stripes and forms that is a triumph of spring.
The Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) we love are the extra huge multi stemmed Amaryllis, a tender bulb that flowers spectacularly in the Greenhouse this spring, which with care will re-flower for at least another two seasons.
We pot-on our bulbs in the garden’s greenhouse by late November in a pot just larger than the bulb, watering the compost till it is just damp. The bulb is then left, kept moist in the light filled Greenhouse awaiting the leaves, which are now emerging.
